I’ve booked deep tissue massages in the past ( that’s what it was called vs Swedish style massage) and now I definitely know that there is a difference between what you would get from a massage chain and a individual Licensed Massage Therapist. The attention to detail and explanation of what is being done and why it’s being done is on another level with Marc. It’s difficult to put into words the depth that he gets into the muscle tissue it just has to be experienced to truly know what deep tissue massage is. Also very much a vital part of the massage/ body work
Is the stretching he will put you through during a session. Last but definitely not least is his assessment of your physical condition before he even starts to work on any problem areas which I found out is a lot harder for someone to understand then just saying my lower back hurts/ my neck hurts, etc. And that is why I will recommend Marc Udell Lmt with confidence to others every chance I get.

A recent car accident caused me to experience a reoccurring muscle tightening and some pain at the end of every day. I decided to get a massage and that is when I found Marc. Marc made me feel very comfortable and at ease with his process. I had his deep muscle massage, but he was very careful to not impact my healing broken ribs. The massage made me feel refreshed and I feel any tightness afterwards. I would recommend Marc to anyone who needs a strong therapeutic massage. It worked for me and I expect to have many more massages with Marc in the future.

If you’re looking for a truly deep tissue massage experience, Marc is your man. What I found with my first experience with Marc was not what I had anticipated. I’ve had plenty of deep tissue work, but not like the work that Marc performed. He is a true massage professional that seems to really take pride in his craft and he takes time to educate his client with how they can manage stress & muscular strain well after the session is over. In addition to a no nonsense massage session, he incorporated deep stretching & provided tips & instructions to maintain better posture & to eliminate pain. I will definitely be returning for more of good a thing!

Had my second massage with Marc and it was better than the last visit. Marc welcomed me into his studio. The session began with light stretching before the massage. Marc used various techniques to identify knots and trigger points. During the session we chatted as well as quiet time Marc maintains a high level of professionalism as he works. He asks if the pressure is too light or too much. Overall I left Marc feeling limber and relaxed. Marc is a great guy. if you’re looking for that full body massage to reinvigorate you then book with Marc.

I contacted Marc looking for a 2 hour massage. Wasn’t sure if it would be possible to get a last minute appointment. Marc contacted me right away and scheduled the appointment for that afternoon. Once I arrived at his studio I filled out the paperwork and he went over the problem areas indicated on the form. I thought I knew what a deep tissue massage was then I met Marc. He was able to release the tension between my shoulders that have been an issue for several months. After I left his office I went straight to bed. Got up the next morning feeling a little sore. Marc texted me to see how I was feeling. This was above and beyond anything I expected. The next time I’m in town Marc I plan to schedule 2 sessions. Thank you Marc!

Life changing! I have significant arthritis in the spine/ neck coupled with carpel tunnel in both hands…and for 2 years I’ve struggled with everything from working behind a computer to sleeping. Surgery and meds were the only solutions offered until a friend insisted that I get a deep tissue massage from someone that isn’t afraid to go deep. I found Marc and by the looks of his reviews he was the right guy. He professionally assessed my range of motion and listened carefully to all my complaints. The first massage was a workout like I’ve never had before. Within 30 minutes he released a nerve in my right arm and 15 min later he got my left arm to free up. Immediately the tingling, pain and numbness in both arms and hands eased. By That evening the pain stopped and I slept through the night without waking up 5 times with pain in my hands. The 2nd appointment a week later was just as intense if not more. Today I just finished my third massage in as many weeks with the same pressure and muscle groups and I’m feeling incredible. For three weeks now I can sleep through the night and ride my bike without my hands numbing and shooting pain. I have a rare pain syndrome called CRPS. It is associated with a lot of skin sensitivity to light touch, muscle spasms that are really difficult to manage because it hurts to be touched. One of the nerves running down my arm is also affected because it’s trapped between sone of the muscle spasms in my neck/shoulder.
I’ve been to several massage therapists over the years, and Marc is one of the few that is able to do the deep tissue massages that I need. He uses very steady and focused techniques that have made my pain significantly better. I need to go at least every two to three weeks, and he offers a great deal on a 5-massage package that allows me to get 2 hour sessions at a reduced rate.
I would highly recommend him to anyone with difficult to manage pain, and anyone who needs targeted deep tissue work. He’s truly amazing.

Hands down this was by far the best massage of my time (and i'm no stranger to massages). When I saw his profile and credentials, I knew I had to see him. A very good communicator and very professional. Upon meeting at first appointment, he demonstrated his knowledge in the field. The pressure was amazing (someone who finally gets what "deep" is). But more importantly was our interaction during the massage. He was very in tune with my body and knew I hadn't done as much stretching as I should based on my build. He was constantly giving me advise on how to correct that etc. He wasn't just making stuff up either. He IS the real deal when it comes to the body and physiology. Each year when I travel to St. Petersburg for vacation I see Marc for a session with a massage and stretching. This would be my 5th year in a row. This session he worked on my scar tissue in my abdominal area from many abdominal surigies I have had. The pain from the scar tissue and limitations has been a huge problem for me. During today's session I felt instant relief in the scar tissue areas and now hours later I'm feeling like a new person with little to no pain and have much better range of motion. After many years of neglecting the pain in my body muscles as a result from repeated plastering jobs, I decided to take the plunge and made a massage appointment with therapist Marc Udell in St. Pete on Saturday, May 7th, 2022.
The symptoms I was experiencing included: neck, shoulder, arm, hand, upper and lower back pain, in addition to reduced range of motion in neck, as well as numbness, weakness, and slow reflexes in arms, hands and legs.
Marc took the time to listen to my ailments, review and explained my condition very thoroughly so that I understood my symptoms as well as the massage type he recommended.
Three days have passed since my ninety minute session with Mark and all I can say is not only am I impressed with his knowledge of neuromuscular deep tissue work and massage but also in awe at the fast and amazing healing results he gave back to my aching body…

Rave review!!! I've not had a massage in over 5 years. My former LMT had health issues and closed. I've been having a few myself with major shoulder surgeries and now neck issues. I made an appointment with Marc Udell @ MJU Massage for last Monday. I've been doing physical therapy for a few weeks, but it was not really working. It is very personal when another human is touching you, and I was a bit apprehensive. Marc made the entire experience well worth it. He sat down and went over my medical history and came up with a plan of action. This was not the normal go in and lay down for a relaxing massage. The massage was very rigorous and focused on the areas of concern. Marc is well versed on stretching the muscles and working the joints. The massage and body work was intense and I felt like I had just had a 90 minutes workout. I was a little sore the day after, but no complaints. I will be going a lot more now that I've found someone who makes feel a few years younger. Thanks Marc

Marc is an extremely knowledgeable and dedicated professional. When you engage his services, he takes a genuine interest in your well being. Recently, when I told him about a decades old shoulder injury that left me with limited shoulder mobility for many years he immediately sprung into action. And after just two sessions I can see a significant improvement in my range of movement and once again I am able to perform, with greater ease, simple tasks like threading my arm through a shirt sleeve, attaching my seatbelt or reaching for an item on a high cabinet shelf with that arm. In the spirit of full disclosure, there was some pain involved, but all through the process he explained what he was doing and why he was doing it and coached me through it. I am looking forward to the next session and subsequent ones because I know that each time there will be more improvement (and all without the necessity of surgery). In summary, Marc is a great massage therapist if you need a massage but he’s an even greater one if you need some help with a recent (or in my case, not so recent) sports injury. Thanks Marc !

I have been seeing Marc for approximately 2 years, he is quite skilled and has a comprehensive knowledge of muscle groups and joints. I had two accidents last year, each required surgeries resulting in permanent rod, plates, and pins and weeks of limited use and ability during recovery.
In combination with physical therapy, Marc resolved significant muscle tightness and range of motion issues. He knows better than I what muscles and joints need attention and work. Overall recovery time was reduced and ability restored much more quickly with his attention and therapy, always makes me feel much better the day or two following seeing him.
Marc is highly recommend for those needing therapeutic work whether from working out or recovering from injuries.

I had a nasty fall down the stairs at my home and although the bruises healed, I would feel pain each time I stretched my left arm over my head. I made an appointment with Marc and asked if he might spend part of my session working on that section of my body. As part of my massage that day he gave a special focus to that trouble area and I noticed improvement starting the same day. After a couple of additional sessions the pain was completely gone and it's been more than a month now and I've had no reoccurrences. If you are in pain for any reason, don't just ignore it. It has a way of slowly taking over your life. I strongly recommend seeing a professional such as Marc, as he is persistent in working out the kinks and tensions we suffer with on a daily basis. He does a true deep tissue massage. It can be intense at times but well worth the benefit of becoming pain free. It's allowed me to get back to my exercise routine again. Thanks Marc.

This is not a spa massage. It IS a therapeutic massage, and if that's what you are looking for, and can stand temporary discomfort for long-term gain, you will be quite pleased. That being said, if you aren't on board with an intense massage, you should *definitely* talk to Marc about that beforehand.
I got the 90 minute massage and highly recommend it. Im not sure if shorter massages include stretching, but it was an integral part of my experience. Marc stretched my muscles based on my range of motion and feedback. An incredibly helpful aspect of the experience--Marc explained what he was doing and the anatomy behind it. This points me in the direction for self-care and maintenance at home.
I am three days out and still have better range of motion and fewer knots. Because of my improve RoM, I am able to keep up with the work Marc did. I am sore, but feel 10 years younger. I highly recommend Marc and have already booked him the next time in within 250 miles of St Pete.

Following up: The stretching really helped loosen me up and restore some flexibility. I've had deep massage before, but not as deep as what you did. There's very little overall soreness or tenderness, but there are "reminders" of spots that were tense, and more mindfulness of posture and movement - sort of like a wake up. All to say, feeling good, drank lots of water, and had a good night's sleep, and lots of pee. I think a nice long warm soak with Epsom salts will top it all off, this evening. Marc was great. I received a deep tissue massage and I did not realize that I was so tense. After the massage is was sore and it took a couple of days for the soreness to away. But I was glad I got the deep tissue massage. I book for 5 more massages.

I've not had a deep tissue to this extent before, however it was very much something I needed. It's not a massage that you go to relax in. It's one to really help you, and you just need to get through the initial pain of it. I've always been a very tense person, and he worked places I don't think I've ever had worked on before! I am not disappointed And intend to go back!

I had quite a few massages in my life and this one was by far the best. Marc is definitely a really nice guy, working in a spotless, relaxing studio. I work on a laptop many hours a day, hit the gym a few times per week and Marc’s ability to adapt his deep tissue massage to my body’s needs was second to none. Marc deserves the success he is having and am glad to become one of his regular clients.

I herniated my L5,S1 Lumbar disk in 1991. I was very fortunate to have an excellent physical therapist that focused on deep tissue massage in addition to the other modalities. I was grateful that because of my treatment, I did not have to have surgery or opioid meds to recover from my injury. Deep tissue massage has been part of my ongoing maintenance treatment for my back, neck and shoulders. I am very appreciative of Marc Udell for providing a completely theraputic and professional deep tissue massage. I feel 10 years younger after my massages with Marc. I have noticed increased flexabilty in my neck, shoulders, back and legs after my massage sessions, in addition to decreased pain. I recommend Marc for those who suffer with stiff and tense muscles and joints who seek relief.

My shoulder and neck recently seized up with excruciating pain for days. I had no idea what I had done. There was no one I believed could help me more than Marc based on his past massages, knowledge and technique. Liking massages light and fluid, I was not used to Marc's deep technique, but over time we hit a happy medium and I benefited more. That day I needed it to be as deep as I could stand it. I was more than surprised at how much better I felt afterwards. Never had another problem with it. Marc is incredibly professional and qualified. I am sold on Marc for now on.

I discovered Marc with MJU Massage while searching online for local massage therapists. I read some of his reviews about how he does incredible stretching and very deep tissue something that I have been in search of for years. All I can say is Marc gives your body 110% of the attention it needs and works every tight muscle group. Ive never been stretched like this before and he literally puts his whole body into it and dives deep. He is also very pleasant to talk to and explains everything he is about to do. Marc is a professional who knows his craft very well. I was a little nervous as this was my first experience with deep tissue massage. He put me at ease right away. Marc is very strong, but he was attentive to my reactions and frequently asked if I was doing ok. While a little uncomfortable at times, overall it was amazing. Very nice environment and Marc is an interesting, friendly guy. I am looking forward to my fourth session soon! Highly recommended.

All I can say is, WOW. This was not the typical relax and float away massage that I was expecting. But that's a good thing. Marc explained up front that he was going to stretch and work my muscles and tendons. Did it hurt? Yes. Did it burn? Yes. But Marc explained what he was doing and why. “Marc listened carefully to how my back and shoulder had been damaged five years ago. I have been disabled for 7 years, and after 4 surgeries I live with 4 bars, 8 screws, and an electronic stimulator implanted in my lower lumbar. I live with chronic pain even on pain medication. There isn't anything I can do without carefully thinking about what pain it might cause me, or perhaps even what long term damage might happen. Walking, swimming, stretching and massage therapy are all strongly suggested by my doctors, however there is always that fear that a new masseuse might move me the wrong way and cause pain, or worse yet inflict a more permanent problem in my lower back. Upon arriving Marc began by asking what I was looking to achieve from the massage, and in turn what I was to expect during his massage. He looked at the surgical area and reassured me that I would be fine. It was a perfect approach because I totally trusted him! He listened intensively and throughout the entire deep tissue part of the massage he was extremely vigilant to make sure not only that I was comfortable, but that I felt he was doing his job. And make sure when you get a massage from Marc that you expect a deep tissue massage!! The stretching part scared the hell out of me and Marc saw that on my face. Marc responded appropriately, but more surprisingly he stretched me further than I ever would have imagined he could have - and he did all this without ANY lumbar pain! I can't get in and out of the car without causing pain!! He remained so vigilant to what he needed to for ME, and how to do it without causing any pain it was incredible. I have not felt this good in years! I am very anxious to continue using Marc on a weekly basis to stretch my muscles and to see just how much this will improve my mobility while at the same time hopefully reducing more of the daily pain I have grown so accustomed to over 7 years. Marc listened carefully to how my back and shoulder had been damaged five years ago. We discussed the treatments I'd rec'd in the past, before he recommended his plan to address these two areas, starting with my shoulder to ease the pain. After ninety minutes of intense and sometimes true discomfort, due to the pressure he had to exert, to break up the atrophied muscle groups, my shoulder now has free range of motion. It was unbelievable how Mark reached into his vast knowledge of myofacial massage expertise and released the incredibly painfully sensitive areas of tight muscle fibers in my shoulder, from an old injury. Marc has done so much for my body already that I don't know where to start. I was hurting almost every place the human body can hurt. Neck stiffness, shoulder pains, back pains, mostly lower back, buttocks and knees would almost have me in tears at times. Constant leg pain when walking. I would walk two or three minutes and felt like legs were going to collapse on me. First appointment Dec. 7 and I left there feeling great. Second appointment Dec. 14 and my third will be Dec. 21. Marc fully explains everything and makes sure you understand it before it does it. He will ask some questions BEFORE he works on you to learn about your medical history. He knows the body and knows how to get rid of a lot of pains the doctors always push off on arthritis. I've had these pains for years and all I ever heard was "arthritis". Well, they were way off. After my 1st treatment I felt like a new man. After my 2nd treatment it is even better. Marc is like a "Gentle Giant" when doing the massaging and muscle stretching. He knows just how far to go and tells you what to expect during and after the treatment. So glad I found him and he is close to home. Do yourself a favor soon. If you are hurting make that next appointment with Marc, you will be glad you did. We are never to old to take care of ourselves, I'm 74 and feeling younger every day.
